Day Eleven

A little Monday update for you - today I did some more animation for the game over screen 🎉 only had 30 minutes of Polyfury time today so I don’t have much to show.

Instead, here’s a little tool I made ages ago to visualise boss phases:

This handy little script controls when different boss phases are active - as you can see, for the Pentagon there are five phases under the hood! Each one has a different set of attacks, and can have different things that happen on phase change. It’s a really nice, flexible system that lets me do an awful lot. Most players won’t ever really notice a specific “phase change” other than the Pentagram transition (hint: look out for it zooming off screen!), but it makes the fight continue to feel really fresh and varied.

What’s next?

Tomorrow will be another shorter day finishing up the game over animations. Then on Wednesday I’ll send the build out to the alpha testers!
